Benjamin Bruneteaux and French poker go hand-in-hand. Benny might be best known for his commentary of the action from the booth, but he’s turning into a formidable force on the felt, too.
Although his passion for the game started way before 2022, that was the year he began to invest serious time and energy into the live tournament scene. Before long, he’d managed a nice string of deep runs and cashes at events from the European Poker Tour (EPT) to the PokerStars Open. In fact, in 2025, Benny claimed his best cash finish at the PokerStars Open Campione.
It's no wonder the results are going in his favor when you consider the dedication he puts into improving his skills. Aside from playing, Benny learns as much as he can about the tactical side of the game through hand analysis, as well as making sure he’s physically prepared at the tables thanks to his workout routine.
After all, there’s no rest for the wicked as Benny is also one part of the French-speaking commentary duo that call the EPT for PokerStars, along with Julien “Yu” Brécard. Their captivating commentary has earmarked them as iconic poker callers, so much so that Benny and Yu were recognized with the award for French commentators of the year in 2024.
Benny might be an award-winner, but don’t expect him to slow down any time soon. Whether it’s as a commentator, player or PokerStars Ambassador, he puts his all into everything he does, so there’s a lot more to come.
