SPINAYARN (2) blew out of condition fresh up, and then still needed his last run at Waverley as well, despite winning a trial before that effort. He slides down in class for this and will have no fitness concerns now. A form reversal is on the cards. MCGRATH (3) will be having his first run from the Caley Myers stable, who has him ready to rumble with a couple of trials under his belt. A change of environment can help these older geldings, and he is worth each-way consideration, especially if any money comes for him. CAN DO (7) is still a maiden but won't find this any harder than the fields that he has recently been facing. He was third here 8 days ago over this trip, and can figure in the top 4 again. POPSAGOOSEY (4) has been quite disappointing over the shorter trips, and steps back to a mile for the first time this prep. He has not missed a cheque in 2 starts here, including a win, and he is worth one more chance. NIGHTOWL (8) did not cop the heavy track at Taupo. Stick with him.
