MOHI PLACE (4) ended last season with an overdue maiden win at Trentham over a mile. His future will be over a middle distance and beyond, but good stayers can sprint sharply fresh up. If he is close enough when they turn for home, then he can finish all over the top of his rivals. RETROSTAR (2) had placed twice on the poly track to start his new prep, and then found the ground too heavy at Trentham over a mile last time out. A firmer surface and Craig Grylls in the saddle will help him this time, and he can bounce straight back into the money here. HICKORY JACK (3) lost his way at the end of his last campaign and will be resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. He was close up in a recent trial, and can't be risked fresh up. Check the market. PERFECT PETE (5) fought on well enough when finishing midfield at Trentham last time out a fortnight ago. He is a tough type, and will be right in the finish here. QACENTINA (6) is heading the right way. Include.
